Friday Photo Inspiration (vol. 2)

TGIF! I had a really productive and fun week, but still Friday could not have come sooner. Here are 5 photos to help get you inspired for the weekend..

Spring is (almost) finally here! At the first sign of good weather in NYC this week, I could feel a weight lift off my shoulder. Now, I’m looking forward to longer days, lunch in the park, leather jackets – and  cherry blossoms. They bloom in April at the Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn.

I’m obsessed with the “Au Parc” series by photographer Gray Malin, which features aerial shots of city parks and monuments taken from an airplane. The full collection, including photos from Chicago, London and New York, is currently available for sale on One Kings Lane. (Hat tip to Mackenzie!)

Botanical Portrait

There’s something oddly mesmerizing about this “botanical portrait” from Shoko Wanger’s feature for Cereal. This shot is from San Marino’s Huntington Botanical Gardens. Anyone sensing a spring trend?

Proving that beauty can be found even in adversity, Gigi, who suffers from severe scoliosis still finds passion in ballet and inspires her thousands of Instagram followers through daily photos of her artfully arranged ballet poses in interesting locales. You can read her feature on the Instagram blog.

As always, the wanderlust continues, and this time my sights are set on Venice. How romantic are summer nights by the water?

I’d love to know – any travel plans for you in the near future?

“Friday Photo Inspiration” is a weekly series featuring beautiful image that I’ve discovered around the Internet. The photos above were not taken by me, and are credited to the best of my knowledge. Read earlier installments here
