Hi! I’m Jhaneel. Welcome to my travel and lifestyle blog.
Do you have a passion for travel, food and living life to the fullest?
Great! Because that’s exactly what you’ll find here.
JhaneelLockhart.com is a lifestyle blog with a focus on travel, food and life in New York City. This blog is for adventurers (whether you love exploring your own city or the far reaches of the world), go-getters who thrive in big cities, dreamers and the young at heart.
Featuring travel stories, city guides, restaurant reviews, recipes and personal essays, I hope to make this the urban dweller’s online destination for creative inspiration.
While you may find the occasional round-up of things to do and places to do, my aim is to share stories that inspire you to start your own journey, to be curious about the world and to make connections across borders.
Who am I?
I am a 20-something year old writer with an insane passion for seeing new places, eating good food and constantly challenging myself. I believe we only have one life to live, so I’m always working on making everyday count. Check out my bucket list for to see what I’m working on for the next 3 years.
I was born in Jamaica and moved to New York City in 2005. As a kid, my family moved around a lot so my mom could take advantage of career opportunities. I didn’t know it then, but these early experiences were the beginning of my constant need to seek out new places and experiences.
Being from Jamaica (the land of jerk chicken, ackee and saltfish, curried goat and other amazing food) might also be why I’m so obsessed with cooking and eating. My philosophy is that the best way to get to know a new place or culture is over a meal.
This blog chronicles is about all the ways I experience the world, whether I’m traipsing around the city or dusting off my passport for an international adventures.
