Last Sunday my family and I spent the day doing a bit of apple picking at Masker Orchards in Warwick, NY. It was everyone’s first time and we all had so much fun.
Curiously, I’ve been dying to go apple picking for years, even though I’m usually not a huge fan of apples. I don’t have anything against them but I just don’t find them that appealing. But that’s probably because I’ve been eating store-bought apples. If you’ve ever picked a ripe apple off a tree and bitten into it, you know that none of that packaged, frozen stuff from the store could ever compare. Our whole group literally turned into giggling, squealing toddlers who had seemingly never had food before. View Post
After an eternity of not reading as much as I’d like, I’ve been steadily reading about 2-3 books a month this summer.
When I was younger, I almost always had my nose in a book. But between work, errands and general procrastination, it’s harder nowadays to find uninterrupted stretches of time to read. Lately, I’ve been making sure to carve out some reading time every night before bed, even if I only get through a few pages before my eyes start closing. Turns out that’s been enough to get me back on track!
Here’s a super random list of books I’ve been reading lately: View Post
At least once every summer since we’ve been dating, Alex and I have had a picnic at Central Park. It’s not something that we ever set in stone, but once the weather starts getting nicer, one of us eventually suggests the idea. There’s just something about spending an afternoon outdoors, soaking up the sun and having a leisurely meal with good people that refreshes me, and no summer is complete without this little tradition. This is not a fashion blog. I repeat: this is not a fashion blog. But I’ve been dying to tell you guys about this concept that has pretty much revolutionized the way I think about my clothes.
You know that feeling when you stare into your closet and get stressed out because no matter how many clothes you have, you can’t find anything to wear? For the longest time, that was my morning routine. View Post
For the longest time, I avoided gift guides like the plague. They generally reek of commercialism and are often full of frivolous stocking stuffers that no one wants or super-expensive items that no one can afford. Plus, they tend to be categorized by gender, so you see the same shaving kit and cocktail sets over and over again for guys. But I realized a lot of the things I think are cool would be great gifts for anyone. So I’ve put together my own list of items I’m thinking of getting for friends and family or that I’d be happy to receive this year. Hope you enjoy!
